The John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering challenges our students strive for excellence in devising ways to ensure an affordable supply of energy and minerals, while protecting the environment and the health and safety of the workforce. Classes are taught by accomplished faculty and our students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that complement the classroom experience.
Our department also provides students with a unique opportunity to gain both engineering and business skills under one roof. A number of our students combine a major in one of our engineering fields with a minor in Energy Business and Finance. High achieving students can also have the opportunity to combine the EBF major with a second major in a technical engineering disciplines. Students with this combination of engineering and business training are in high demand from companies across the energy sector.
